The shop
the soap museum

Ideally located on the quays of the Old Port, the Marseille Soap Museum Boutique welcomes you next to its museum, a historic site built by Louis XIV.

Of the 4 boutiques of the Savonnerie de la Licorne in Marseille, the one adjoining the Soap Museum is the largest, with two floors and hundreds of handmade creations by our master soap-maker Serge Bruna.

As soon as you enter, a "pointu", the traditional Marseille boat, sets the scene... we're right in the heart of the Old Port, with its multitude of masts and boats.

Since the 17th century, the site of the boutique has been part of Louis XIV's Arsenal, which until 1748 housed the royal fleet, convicts sentenced to forced labour and galley slaves.

Come and discover our two-storey boutique, with our entire collection of genuine Marseille soaps by La Licorne, essential oils, accessories, gift sets and a wide selection of beauty products and gift ideas from local artisans on the ground floor.

Upstairs, around a giant golden bar of Marseille soap, you'll find superb reproductions of ships and a whole world of maritime objects and gifts.

Just next door to the Boutique is our Museum, where you can discover the history of soap from prehistoric times to the present day, through frescoes, works of art, documents, objects and rare items. An interactive museum thanks to our sensory area and our Marseille soap-making demonstration workshop, where you can personalise your own creation.
