The shop
du vieux-port / Town Hall
It's in the historic district of Marseille,
on the Old Port, at the foot of the Town Hall and opposite Notre-Dame
de la Garde where one of the four boutiques is located.
of the Master Soapmaker's Unicorn Soapery
Serge Bruna and his wife Laurence.
This Savonnerie de la Licorne boutique is located in the heart of the arcades of the famous Pouillon buildings, listed as historic monuments and awarded the "20th Century Heritage" label.
Under the German occupation in January 1943, a large part of the Mairie district was totally destroyed, leaving a field of ruins. After the liberation, a competition was launched for this titanic reconstruction project...
The architect Fernand Pouillon, who was very attached to this project, outdid himself and won the day, by imposing his innovative idea of large buildings in regular, separate blocks, built in blonde stone from the Pont du Gard. He created massive forecourts built on attractive ground-floor arcades.
Here you can discover real Marseille soaps and all the in-house creations from the Savonnerie de la Licorne workshop based on Cours Julien in Marseille, as well as products from local artisans.
