The artist Yves Yacoël and the Savonnerie de la Licorne

For many years now, the Savonnerie de la Licorne has been surrounding itself with talented contemporary artists to enhance its Marseille establishments...focus on Yves Yacoël, creator of three works to be discovered at the Musée du Savon and its boutique on Marseille's Old Port. Yves Yacoël, a Paris-born visual artist and pioneer of pixel stickers, is in a state of grace when he castigates advanced or old codes in fables that are always ready to redefine themselves. He is a visionary artist who uses a variety of mediums and techniques to firmly establish his creations: pastillage, pixel, photography and little sayings, poems and books etc... But he also creates minimalist and monumental works.

In 1998, for the Savonnerie de la Licorne, he created a painted wooden sculpture entitled "The Unicorn". planet man-claws. Then in 2013, for Marseille Provence European Capital of Culture, he created a sculpture of soap pixels called "Exyyt". For the creation of the Soap Museum he created the work " Wall of glass.

The "Exyyt" and "planète pinces-hommes" originally created for an exhibition at the Musée de l'Homme in Paris.
