5 years already since the Soap Museum opened its doors

The Soap Museum opened its doors on 2 June 2016 in the former arsenal des galères, a prestigious venue funded by la Savonnerie la Licorne. Many of you were present at its inauguration to discover this museum brimming with history.

The aim is to pass on know-how

Our master soap-maker, Serge Bruna, a soap-maker's grandson, has been immersed in the world of soap since his early childhood. He wanted to pass on his know-how and his passion. So he came up with the idea of creating a museum dedicated to the history of this universal cube. To do this, he decided to exhibit his personal collection of objects and machines and use them to tell the story of soap. These are authentic items, some of them a hundred years old, handed down from generation to generation.

Experience first and foremost

The Musée du Savon aims to give you a fully-fledged experience. That's why we offer a range of workshops on site. Whether with family or friends, you'll have the chance to make your own personalised soap and take it home with you. It's a chance to let your imagination run wild and let your creativity shine through.

A crack team

To fully immerse you in the world of soap, a team is on hand to share their knowledge with you. Michel, who has now retired, has been in charge from day one. He is now handing over the reins to a new team. Just like him, they'll be on hand to show you every detail of this traditional craft.

Thank you very much!

Over the years, your visits have made this place a convivial place to share. You've brought the museum to life through your laughter and your moments of complicity, and we'd like to thank you for all that. We've been delighted to welcome you and share this experience over the last five years. And we hope that your numbers will continue to grow.

We look forward to seeing you at 25 quai de Rive Neuve to discover and rediscover this special place.
